Dom Bradbury has been a Unite workplace representative for over 10 years and has predominantly worked at the BAE Systems Warton unit. As a bargaining group, they participated in the 18-week strike during the 35-hour week campaign dispute in 1989/1990.
He still works with members who went out on strike and the shorter working week is still very much a relevant and present topic of discussion in the union’s communications.
This has led to a vested interest in the Alex Ferry Foundation, and all eagerly await updates on the positive ways the fund is being put to use, not only as a charity supporting local causes but also funding studies towards a shorter working week.
