Matthew Roberts

Matthew Roberts is a National Officer at the GMB Union and the Chair of the Maritime Sector of the Confederation of Shipbuilding & Engineering Unions (CSEU).

He graduated in Law whilst organising trade union membership in low paid work. Matthew was appointed the youngest Regional Organiser in GMB before later moving to the union’s National Office team.

Matthew has a wide range of trade union organising and negotiating experience across many diverse sectors of the economy. He is passionate about social justice and equality and believes the Alex Ferry Foundation can be a force for good in communities, working with the wider trade union and labour movement.
